Delivering the correct dosage of beams to the right area is central to treating cancer through radiotherapy. It’s a challenge that requires medical teams to have an extremely precise and continuous vision of tumour movement, so that they can adapt in real time how treatment is delivered (ensuring a high dosage to target the tumour while preserving healthy tissues). The state-of-the-art TrueBeam system offers such customised treatment. Committed to maintaining excellence in the fight against cancer, Elsan has equipped its clinics with this innovative radiotherapy system that guarantees greater patient comfort.

TrueBeam

Protecting healthy tissues

One of the hallmarks of the TrueBeam system is its high precision (measured in increments of less than a millimetre), which enhances the safety of treatments administered to patients. Healthy tissues located near the irradiated zone are thus protected. As a result, treatment is more efficient, allowing Elsan medical teams to perform generally faster procedures at higher dose rates. This significantly reduces patient discomfort during treatment.

Customised treatment

TrueBeam is a linear particle accelerator that allows practitioners to create treatment plans that are perfectly adapted to each patient, thanks to the numerous radiotherapy techniques offered by the system. TrueBeam can be used to treat all types of cancer, regardless of location (brain, lungs, prostate, etc.), in all cases where radiotherapy is specified. The system can also use several types of imaging and solutions specific to certain diseases. This enhanced customisation ability is reinforced by TrueBeam’s ability to treat moving tumours (due to the patient breathing during the procedure) with speed and pinpoint accuracy.

Innova IGS 520

Imaging to support cardiovascular procedures

Innova IGS 520 is a flat-panel detector system that enables surgeons to see vessels by injecting a product that is visible in radiography. This opacification of vessels, or angiography, makes it possible to locate diseased vascular areas and to carry out vascular repair procedures under visual control.
